COLLABORATIVE LAW PROFESSIONAL
Harriet K. Breslow, L.C.S.W.-C. is a psychiatric social worker in private practice in Potomac, MD. She has had 36 years of experience working with couples, adults, children, and families, addressing such issues as: anxiety, depression, phobias , child behavior problems, and sexual problems. She has been trained as a divorce coach and child specialist, divorce mediator, and as a parent coordinator.
Mrs. Breslow has a B.A. degree from Connecticut College for Women, and an M.S.W. from the Catholic University of America. She has also had advanced training at the Brief Family Therapy Center in Milwaukee, WI, and at the Family Therapy Institute in Washington, D.C. Mrs. Breslow formerly worked at the Frost Counseling Center where she counseled parents and emotionally impaired students. She specializes in Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, a technique that helps couples to reach agreement in a shorter period of time by focusing on the positive rather than the negative . This technique is particularly well suited for the collaborative divorce coaching process. For many years Mrs. Breslow has trained school counselors, hospital social work staffs, and medical and social work students in the Washington area.
Mrs. Breslow is a member of the following collaborative organizations: CDA, CDRP, DCACP, CMHP, IACP, and MCPC.
