Russell G. Bregman began his career in public accounting in 1989 in the auditing and consulting department of Grant Thornton in Pretoria, South Africa. While at Grant Thornton, he provided auditing, accounting and consulting services for public companies, family owned businesses, and governmental organizations. On arriving in the United States in 1996, he joined Grossberg Company, a public accounting firm in Bethesda, Maryland where he provided auditing, accounting and tax preparation services for family owned businesses, and employee benefit plans. In 2000, Mr. Bregman joined Valuation Services, Inc. (“VSI”) a premier valuation and consulting firm in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. Currently, Mr. Bregman is a Senior Manager at VSI where he provides valuation and consulting services to attorneys and other professional service providers for purposes of divorce and marital dissolution, gift and estate tax planning/reporting, ESOP reporting, and litigation support. His valuation experience includes the valuation of fractional ownership interests and privately owned businesses including ESOPs and he has been engaged as an Expert Witness in the areas of valuation of closely held businesses and fractional interests in closely held businesses. Mr. Bregman is also trained in mediation and collaborative divorce. Mr. Bregman is also an active member of national and local valuation related professional organizations.
