Daniel M. Kennedy, III has been a principal for greater than 30 years in the law firm of Barkley & Kennedy, Chartered. He attended The Johns Hopkins University, receiving a B.A. in 1981, and graduated from New York Law School with a J.D. in 1984. He was admitted to practice before the Maryland Bar in January 1985. He is admitted to practice before all State and Federal District Courts.
He is a past president of the Bar Association of Montgomery County and Bar Foundation for Montgomery County. As well, he is a past president of the Montgomery Inns of Court.
He is a practitioner of collaborative law. He is a member of the Collaborative Dispute Resolution Professionals (CDRP) in Montgomery County and has served on its executive committee. He is a member of the Association of Collaborative Professionals in Frederick and served on its executive committee. He recently completed a two-year tenure on the Board of Directors for the Maryland Collaborative Practice Council and the Board of Directors for the Collaborative Project of Maryland. As well, he has been a frequent speaker on the subject of complex commercial, real estate and bankruptcy issues for the family law sections of the Bar Associations for Montgomery County and Frederick County.
He is a member of the Bankruptcy Bar Association for the District of Maryland, the Bar Association of Montgomery County, and the Bar Association of Frederick County. He has an active consumer bankruptcy practice and a litigation practice in the commercial and family law areas.
