At its best, mediation helps people figure out their own solutions to conflict. “Generative attention” is a powerful listening technique that helps make this goal a reality. The presenters will define generative attention, show how to give generative attention, demonstrate its efficacy in mediation, and explain the neuro-psychological reasons for its power in helping people to do their best thinking.
John Spiegel, J.D., is an attorney whose practice has been devoted exclusively to family mediation since 1996. Judith Glasser, Ph.D., is a clinical psychologist who has been in private practice for over 30 years.
