Learning to Live with Implicit Bias – Diversity/Multi-culturalism Program

Come and learn more about implicit bias and how it shows up in our work, impacting clients and team interactions. In this program, you’ll gain skills in identifying implicit bias, how it informs our attitudes and behaviors, and practical tools in countering the adverse impact and maximizing optimal communication. Theopia Jackson, PhD, is an accomplished scholar-practitioner and educator who provides cultural competency workshops/seminars/consultation.  Dr. Jackson was the keynote speaker at the IACP annual conference in October 2018 and recently presented a day long workshop for the DC Collaborative Practice Group titled BLENDING WORLDS: COMPLEXITIES OF MULTICULTURALISM AND THE COLLABORATIVE DIVORCE MODEL. Dr. Jackson received her master’s degree in clinical psychology from Howard University, Washington DC and doctorate from the Wright Institute in Berkeley, California.
